This post is for my late Great Grandmother.. She passed away peacefully ths morning at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, she was a hundred and three.. Received the news at around 1.20 from Brendan, called mom and dad immediately and they said they already knew. Wanted to phone Grandma and comfort her but I'm afraid I'll make the matter worst so I'll probaly comfort her later. Though I haven't spoken to her for a few years now as she suffered from Alzheimer's and couldn' even remember who we are but my memories briefly recalled her telling us stories while we were kids and how she always told us she would go below to buy sweets for us whenever we cried. I loved her dearly because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't even be here today. See, according to my Grandmother, she led a miserable life back in China and was forced to peddle drugs when she was just a child. She then ran away to Singapore where she became the mistress of my late Great Grandfather and had 4 daughters and two sons one whom passed away during World War 2 from malnutrition. She led a long If it wasn't for her detemination to turn away from a life of crime and her dream to have a better life in Singapore, I wouldn't even have been borned. She witnessed many historical events, braved the two World Wars to build a Strong and Closely-knitted family bonded together not because of wealth but Love.. Yes I do feel the love that she has strongly rooted deep into our family and I promise I'll never left it die..
I love you Great Grandma... We will never forget you..
